The tower in the centre is part of the local fire station. It was used in the old days for drying the hoses and other equipment after use. I do not think the tower serves any purpose today. A gold colored weather vane stood on the top, made by my maternal grandfather but I do not where it is now, maybe a storm took it and the vane rests now in the sea.
Is that the sole remnant of the old station?
SvarSlettNo, it is still in use but the rest of it is nothing more than a big block of concrete that happens to be a building.
