First days of uni

So, we are back at Uni again here in Trondheim. I see that eventhough I have not posted anything the last days there are some souls who check regularly for updates. This pleases me a lot. For the third year in a row I participate in the programme the Uni offers new students, so I help the new students with practical stuff as well as getting them to know people. We have been doing this for a week now, having a picnic in the park, showing the the local places to have a drink etc. A couple of days ago, we held a quiz for those who have just started. The pub we frequently visit was packed, maybe 160 people. The waitress said to us that we had bought items (drinks, food) for 11 500 NOK, which is a decent amount.

I know it has been quiet around here these last days and I am not apoligizing for it either. Apoligizing for not writing is something I do not like about "bloggers" although I do not see myself as a blogger. Blogging seems so juvenile to me. What I have is not quite blogging since I steer away from fashion, make up and all that stuff. This week has been relatively good. We have had a lot of sun and the temperatures have been around 20 centigrades. At last my shorts has been used for the summer. The humidity has been insane today. From around five o' clock it went through the roof and I have been sweating non stop even now when it is raining. Well, well...I can not complain but I choose to do it anyway. Complaining about things is something that keeps me going.

Prepared

It is good to see that at least one person in the neighbourhood is prepared for winter.

Back in Nidaros

My stay at home came to an end yesterday as my flight back to Trondheim was scheduled for yesterday. Opening the door into my room was in a way awkward. It felt like I had not been away for almost two months. The feeling is rather hard to explain besides that it seemed to me like I had been away for a night or so. It sucks coming back. Do not get me wrong, I am in a good place in my life right now. But carrying the suitcase up the stairs is something I could do without. Unpacking is not fun either. In addition to all this, my external harddrive has stopped working. At least the computer can not find it other than installing the drivers that are needed. Exploring the contents on it is still not possible. I do surely hope it can be fixed since all my photos, games and downloaded Metallica shows are on that.

Today started a bit better, though. The clock was not even 10, I think, when the postman was outside my door. My new X-box had arrived, yay! All I need to do now is transferring all the old data from the previous disk to the new one.

'Nother book completed

Spent the last few days reading a book called "The Book thief" by Markus Zusak. First I would like to say that this is a brilliant way to relax and let your imagination take you for a spin. Having that said, the first few pages do not make any sence at all. But you will recognize the parts from the beginning later in the story. The plot itself is not difficult to follow. A little girl, Liesel, is sent to a foster home in Germany as Europe is on the brink of war. She settles quite quickly and becomes very fond of her fater who teaches her to read. Literacy and books are key elements here. At one point a man knocks on their door. It is the son of a person who saved the life of Liesel's father during the first world war. And now Max needs help. You would not think that helping a person might be problematic. But Max, he is a jew. Liesel's father is a man of his word and they hide Max in their basement. The story of Liesel and Max is one story in this book. The other story is Liesel and her life as a normal child during these years. So if this seems interesting, read it. That is all I can say, really.
